Anh Cao: a Republican with a conscience. Next week: Big Foot.
Said Rep. Anh "Joseph" Cao, a Republican from Louisiana, who cast a lone Republican yes vote last night:
"I have always said that I would put aside partisan wrangling to do the business of the people. My vote tonight was based on my priority of doing what is best for my constituents."
I'm sure every supporter of healthcare reform would applaud Cao and wish the same could be said of the following Democratic party representatives for the health insurance companies who voted no:
John Adler (D-NJ) , Jason Altmire (D-PA), Brian Baird (D-WA), John Barrow (D-GA), John Boccieri (D-OH) , Dan Boren (D-OK), Rick Boucher (D-VA), John F. Boyd (D-FL), Bobby Bright (D-AL), Ben Chandler (D-KY) , Travis Childers (D-MS), Artur Davis (D-AL), Lincoln Davis (D-TN) , Chet Edwards (D-TX), Bart Gordon (D-TN), Parker Griffith (D-AL) , Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-SD), Tim Holden (D-PA), Larry Kissell (D-NC), Suzanne Kosmas (D-FL) , Frank Kratovil (D-MD), Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) , Betsy Markey (D-CO) , Jim Marshall (D-GA), Eric Massa (D-NY), Jim Matheson (D-UT), Mike McIntyre (D-NC), Mike McMahon (D-NY), Charlie Melancon (D-LA), Walt Minnick (D-ID), Scott Murphy (D-NY), Glenn Nye (D-VA), Collin Peterson (D-MN), Mike Ross (D-AR), Heath Shuler (D-NC), Ike Skelton (D-MO) , John Tanner (D-TN) , Gene Taylor (D-MS), Harry Teague (D-NM)
Like Cao, I'm sure Kucinich voted inline with his conscience as opposed to his campaign contributions, so he gets a pass. But every other one of these losers needs to be replaced.
