To the city mayors, the corporatists, the thieves on Wall Street and the wingnut yahoos on the comments sections of any news site... those famous words of Bush II.

A Bull Connor Moment?
I don't know whether this picture from today's attack on Oakland OWS will be remembered in years to come. But it should.
To me, it's memorable because of the incongruity of the cop, the face of the establishment, looking like the freak compared to some mellow dude who just happens to be practicing yoga in the midst of an OWS eviction. A little while ago, these OWS protesters were regarded as a wild fringe by the majority. Now their grievances are shared by the majority. Now this picture looks more like an unjustified attack by an aggressive minority rather than a restoration of civic order.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd react to this picture differently than I would have a few months back. Maybe we're now awakened to the fact that the establishment - the 1% and their bought-and-paid-for pols - are the toxic minority... they are the freaks, the troublemakers, the usurpers. This could be a game-changing moment. Like back in the 60s when Americans witnessed the extremism of segregationist Police Chief Eugene "Bull" Connor on TV news. After seeing Connor assert his authority on peaceful protesters via attack dogs and fire hoses in Alabama, the mainstream decided it was his 'order', not the protesters' disorder, that was untenable. Could we be getting there?

I have nothing to say about Rick Perry today... only that Kirk Lazurus' advice in Tropic Thunder seems apropos.

You know you've made it as a world-class idiot when your f*ck ups become the stuff of mainstream memes. Users of the iPhone Yelp app have been getting this update message making fun of Perry's recent "oops, there goes my candidacy" moment.

I love you man and I wish you all the success in the world (or, at least, Florida) but... Please ditch the weird Hitlerish photo on your site. Why save those teabaggers Photoshop time by making yourself look like you'd be more interested in reoccupying the Rhineland than your seat in Congress? Just sayin'...

Today's WTF?! Award goes to Raging Elephants for putting up this billboard in Austin. Like, err... does this mean the GOP will start disenfranchising themselves and taking away their own right to vote then? Maybe these maniacs should ask Dorothy Cooper if she agrees that "GOP is the new black".

How about some MSM props for Anonymous? Says Ars Technica:
I guess the regular news will choose to ignore this because they're more interested in portraying Anonymous as amoral anarchists. Taking out kiddie fiddlers? Nah. That's Chris Hansen's job.
Pedophiles connecting to a concealed child pornography site got an unwelcome surprise last week, courtesy of the hacktivist group Anonymous. Lolita City, a child pornography site run on over a concealed darknet,” has been taken down by Anonymous members, and account details of 1,589 users from the site’s database were posted as evidence.

Folks objected to Amazon's Archie Bunker era insensitivity in selling a "Mens Gay Costume" for Halloween. What to do? Let's just change it to "Mens 70s Adult Star Costume" (and completely forget to change the name of the original page that still appears in the address bar). Doh!

Nice snap of Mitt Romney enjoying some spittin-on-po'-folks horseplay while CEOing Bain Capital back in the day. I'm sure his rival Herman "Black Walnut" Cain will get mileage out of this picture as the Special Olympics Repub race hots up. You go "Black Walnut", you go Mitt "Double Vanilla" Romney...

Via Liming liberal Digest. To be honest, I'd differ with Mr Liming on how disturbing this is. I'm more shocked at just how flat-footed and unfunny conservative "humor" always is. From unfunny "Red Eye" to unfunny spoof hunting licenses... does this gauche sh*t really make wingnuts laugh? How? Why..?

Ooh... apparently, Rick Perry got all froggy with Papa Smurf Paul at the Rethug debate yesterday. Laugh? I nearly did. Is it just me, or does this swooning write-up about the incident at the Ron Paul "fan site" sound oddly homoerotic?
Suddenly, Perry grabbed Ron Paul’s forearm while aggressively pointing his index finger towards the Congressman’s face. Alerted by Perry’s menacing gestures, Ron Paul’s bodyguard (front left) rushed to the stage and put his protective hand on the podium, demonstrating that he was ready to defend the Congressman.
