A Doomed Democrat Strategy in The Making?

This rare moment of unfiltered opinion from Mitt Romney fills in a few blanks I think:

I think President Obama will be difficult to beat in 2012... he will do everything he can to get the economy going back again, and most likely -- at least in my view -- the economy will be coming back.

Could it be that the Democrats have written off the midterms so they can concentrate on 2012 because they agree with Romney's forecast? If so, it's a 'tard move. If the economy does shape up, do they imagine a Republican majority won't just steal the credit and bamboozle those voters who might otherwise give it up to Obama? Of course they will. And they'll ice the sh*t cake by claiming they turned the economy around despite Obama.

This just keeps getting worse.
