Drunky Busted Driving Barbie Car

Today's "Drunk Guy With Comically Unsuitable Mode of Transportation" story is an English guy who got a DUI driving a Barbie car. Says he:

"I was very surprised to get done for drink-driving but I was a twit to say the least. Originally it was a pink Barbie car but I put bigger wheels on it but it's not fast. I'm not unhappy with my punishment, just a little bit surprised."

Two thoughts: 1. The thing does 4mph. Why not just walk? 2. Saying "it was a pink Barbie car" implies that drunky must have given it a paint job so it was less embarrassing to be seen in. If that ain't sadder than a burning orphanage, I don't know what is.

This story doesn't quite match the panache of the guy last year who got his DUI driving a motorized La-Z-Boy. But it's up there.

"Bidding has started over for the infamous DWI chair used by a man who pleaded guilty to drunk driving. The motorized recliner was momentarily taken off the eBay auction block Monday. It was taken off the website, after bids for the motorized chair reached $43,300."

A criminal complaint said 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson told police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers. Police said the chair was powered by a converted lawnmower and had a stereo and cup holders."

After some unfortunate hick was caught on camera trying to buy one last 12-pack while too drunk to cope, a whole slew of musically accompanied versions of the video have appeared. I like this old-timey one best.
