"Five thousand Americans, tens of thousands permanently damaged and shot to pieces, a million Iraqis dead — that wasn’t Bin Laden. That was George Bush. So when does Seal Unit 6 drop in on George Bush?"

Stuck With Bush
A trip to Switzerland by Bush 43 has been canceled. A spokesman for the event he was due to speak at claims they feared "leftist protests would get out of hand." But I'm more inclined to believe Human Rights Watch when they say: "He's avoiding the handcuffs."
Oh well... I guess we're stuck with him. Some of us in the DFW Metroplex uncomfortably nearer than others.

Quote of the Day

Picture courtesy of the Fried Wire archives...
Tweeteth John McCain:
Last American combat troops leave Iraq. I think President George W. Bush deserves some credit for victory.
Wha..? So it's not possible to blame Bush retroactively for anything. But we are supposed to give him credit for things that happen two years after he leaves office? Maybe if I swallowed as many old folk pills as John McCain, this might make sense. But I doubt it.

Note To Bush: Get New Agent

Isn't it time we just put the past behind us, forgot about
Does Bush really need the money bad enough to be keynote speaking at The Safari Club International 38th Annual Hunters' Convention in Reno, billed just ahead of Bush impersonator Frank Caliendo and the friggin' Bellamy Brothers?

Short Memory Syndrome

George W. Who..?
According to a new survey by the Washington Post:
"Only 1% of Republicans name George W. Bush as the person who epitomizes Republican values."
So where were the other 99% of Republicans during the past 8 years? All I remember is lock-step fealty to the Bush regime coupled with blind, unquestioning faith in everything his dumbship did. If anyone was doubting Bush's Republican cred during his entire two terms, they sure as hell kept quiet about it.
Then there were the yells from self-confessed Republicans against liberals with the temerity to doubt the awesomeness of the Dear Leader, the anger against anyone who said what they themselves now appear to be saying. So what gives? Could this be further proof that conservatives are full of sh*t? Or should I be expecting 'OK, you were right' emails from the wingnuts who used to berate me for bad-mouthing Bush and pointing out his non-Republican Neocon-ness?

Barack Obama = George Bush Snr. Yikes...

Is Barack Obama the new Daddy Bush? Say it ain't so...
"President Bill Clinton could certainly "feel your pain" while Mr Bush sometimes struggled to hold back tears. Mr Obama is more like President George Bush Snr, who famously communicated his concern for people by blurting out: "Message - I care.""
Says an opinion piece in the Telegraph.
Nearly everything that Bush jr did for 8 years was ill-advised, ill-conceived and plain horrible. But no-one can argue he was not passionate about what he did. With Obama, his determination to be proper in process and his PBS-style detachment make him very hard to read.
Even as an Obama supporter, I'd have to say his flatness in office - contrasted with his dynamism on the campaign trail - is frustrating. I'm not a moron who needs my president to talk to me at an 8th-grade level, appeal to my 'gut' and parse reality like it's an episode of Days of Our Lives. But Obama may be tacking too far the opposite direction. How does the WH expect to galvanize support if Obama himself doesn't seem particularly fired up about anything?

George Bush is a 'success expert'??? He ran the Texas Rangers and Arbusto oil into the ground, destroyed the economy and has the public speaking abilities of a stroke victim. Yet somehow, he scores a speaking gig at the upcoming Get Motivated business seminar in San Antonio? Like... wow.
