Former Senator Ted Stevens was amongst five who died in an Alaska plane crash Monday. The multi-indicted poster boy for Senatorial graft was once famed for his Hulk ties, porktastic bridges to nowhere and his characterization of the Internet as "a series of tubes".

As much as human decency demands I put on a sad face because he's dead, we shouldn't forget what a colossal crook the guy was and how much money he made peddling his influence to powerful special interests. So entertaining theories may abound in the coming weeks on the conspiracy front... Did the big oil/neocon/Bohemian Grovers do a classic fake crash assassination to shut him up?
