Parasites Killing The Host

The CEOs of Cigna, Humana, UnitedHealth Group, and WellPoint insurance companies gave themselves hefty raises last year, with just five of them pulling in almost $200 million. While jamming yet more cash into their bursting bank accounts, these c*cksuckers were also busy slapping double-digit rate hikes on customers struggling through the recession. Well, durr, gazillionaires got to get the money from someplace...

As a reminder of how the US has become a freak example of corporate parasitism gone wild, let's remember how the average CEO salary in Canada is roughly 21 times the average worker's salary. The ratio is 11 for Germany and Switzerland, 25 for Britain, 10 for Japan and 22 for Australia. But:

The CEO compensation as a multiple of the average employee compensation in the U.S. is a multiplier of 531 as of the year 2000, and much higher now.

In more enlightened societies, I suspect these CEOs would be living with the nagging worry of being lynched in the street by angry peasants. But in America we just get clowns standing up in DC demanding that we cut their taxes as we morph voluntarily into a fully-fledged third world economy.

If you consider the various revolutions that took place in the 20th century and the American revolution itself, it's mind-boggling to think that we're letting the 'ruling classes' rape us so brutally and without a whimper. The class war in America is a revolution in reverse. As the wingnuts themselves are often wont to demand, where's the outrage? Is it reserved only for same-sex marriage, mosques and long-form birth certificates?
