Quote of The Day

“Something is better than nothing — that’s what I keep hearing from my constituents."

So said pint-sized progressive Dennis Kucinich as he finally folded on healthcare reform and announced he'd vote yes.

Much as he'll now attract a sh*tstorm from wingnuts and progressives alike, I doff my cap to him. This is real life. Real life is a constant struggle to reconcile principles with pragmatism and that's what he's done. Conservatives would understand this if they had principles. The über-progressives would understand this if they were less loath to give pragmatism a chance from time to time.

Dennis Kucinich appears to be one guy in DC, at least, who actually listens to his constituents. Good job, sir!

  1. I agree with Kucinich. Have said the same all along. If SOMETHING doesn't get passed it won't bode well for other progressive legislation in the next few years.
But still, Kucinich reminds me of the little alien guy in the Bugs Bunny cartoon that tried to wreck the plane.
