Walking It Back. A Bit

I'm as f*cked off as any other betrayed progressive about Obama. We elected FDR but we got some kind of Dem-lite Lindsey Graham by mistake. And, as much as anyone, I've spent the past 3 years belly-aching about his crashing failure to lead, his masochistic compulsion to "reach across the aisle" to rethug douchebags who wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire and his general weakness. But...

I sure as hell don't want to live in an America ruled by any of the ridiculous pr*cks currently vying to be president on the rethug side. Jeez, President Romney? President Cain? President Perry? Just shoot me in the face.

So here, in the interests of fairness (and self-preservation) let me give props to our Commander in Chief who, while not exactly pulling my enthusiasm strings, is not a Republican. Let's remember the accomplishments:

Saved the auto industry
Killed Bin Laden
Killed Anwar al-Awlaki
Didn’t screw up a hurricane
Prevented second great depression
Created more jobs (during a massive recession) than Bush did (during 8 years of boom)
Repealed DADT
Toppled Gadaffi and...

Finally got us the f*ck out of Iraq

So let the bickering pinheads of the GOP bitch and moan, let the media retards talk sh*t and let the 'baggers wave their misspelled signs... the guy may be a failure but a failure who's achieved more in 3 years than Bush did in two terms.

  1. Toppled Gadaffi? Obama did that? Wow, I never realised.

  2. Come on now. It was my tax dollars that helped pay for the drone that spotted the convoy (that then was rocketed by the French before Gadaffi got tickled to death by Libyans). OK. More accurately I should have said "Helped topple". Happy?

  3. Don't forget---Finally got a health care reform bill passed. Ok, it may be a little watered down version but it's a start. At least it's something!

And really you have to give him the biggest cudos of all -- getting elected as a black man to the highest office in the land. He pulled it off.

I agree, he hasn't been everything we hoped for, but then after 8 years of the 'shrub' he's a far better alternative.
