I think the Republicans have finally become so obsessive in their slavish devotion that the rich are beginning to feel uncomfortable. They're getting creeped out by their stalker-ish attentions and are trying to cool down the relationship. Like... "Hey, I really appreciate you throwing the whole country down the toilet for me and all that... I love getting all that extra money that might otherwise have been wasted on kidney transplants for plebs and name-brand breakfast cereal for middle-class kids' dinner but... I think we should see other parties. It's not you, it's me."

My theory is that it's still early in the cycle. When the riff raff clear out, big mponey will start throwing their weight around. Obama will be demonized like no president has ever been and the line will be "come on back to the party of stability." The proles, who are dying at the feet of the greedy will not just swallow it, but guzzle it like $5 back alley BJ queens, because that's about the same social level they exist upon.
