We The People Screwed Every Time

When it comes to people v. corporations, corporations always win. After all, they have two full houses of very effective company reps in DC who seem to have given up even pretending they're representing the people. At the crack of the corporate whip, they'll jump like circus poodles. And they'll bite the people who elected them every time. Take BP and their liability cap as a for instance.

Any sane person witnessing the multi-billion dollar damage being visited on the gulf through BP's criminal negligence might think the liability cap for oil companies should be lifted. Why the hell should BP be restricted to only paying for a part of the clean up? Democrats agree. The White House agrees. Hell, even John Boehner now agrees. And a bill is making its way through government that will open up BP to full and unlimited liability. Great! Err... not so much.

Apparently, the Republicans, and even BP, are now behind the bill because unlimited liability will just cause whatever subsidiary BP selects as fall guy to file bankruptcy. Then, of course, the full cost of clean up will fall on the US taxpayer and BP will carry on with coffers unscathed. Son of a f*cking bitch... is there no way We The People can catch a break in this corporatocracy?
