The Real Reason?
Greg Palast has made something of a career tracking the GOP's efforts to suppress minority votes over the years. He's positing the Arizona bill as a GOP tactic to scare pro-Democrat Hispanic voters away from the polls.
Could the GOP be this smart? Either way, the timing is perfect and the effect will be the same in November unless the "Papers Please" bill is struck down.
