Eugenics in South Carolina?

Republican gubernatorial hopeful Andre Bauer made comments at a recent South Carolina townhall comparing welfare recipients to "stray animals":

"You're facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don't think too much further than that. And so what you've got to do is you've got to curtail that type of behavior. They don't know any better."

When mainstream Republicans start talking like Nazi eugenics proponents and Democrats seem determined to fail at every opportunity, the system really is broken. It's definitely time to dump the duopoly and have independents running for office who actually reflect the values of sane Americans.

Remember when you didn't necessarily have to be a giant d*ck to run as a Republican? Remember when you didn't have to be a political masochist who gets off on failure to be a Democrat? Can't we get back to that?
