No. But he can go f*ck himself with a large, rusty farm implement anyway...
So the disaster got done looming and now? Obama is characteristically objective on Massachusetts:
"The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office. People are angry, and they're frustrated. Not just because of what's happened in the last year or two years, but what's happened over the last eight years."
I know we live in an age of cable news bullsh*t where reality takes a back seat to talking points and our pols behave more like premenstrual wolverines than statesmen. I know Obama can only be merited for his cool-headed approach but... f*ck.
The Massachusetts buck stops with him. He's the leader. He runs the show and he's losing the audience. And, sorry, the last eight years are just that: the last eight years. Like a lot of progressives who bought Obama's line in 2008, I'm more pissed about what's been going on this past year. Or rather not been going on.
The DNC can't just blame Coakley for her crappy campaign when failure runs from top down. Obama has lost touch with the people who elected him. His year of dull, resultless presidentin' has filled the 'grassroots' with frustration and they stayed home in Massachusetts.
For know-nothing rubes whose racist resentment drives them to teabag voting, Obama is a great motivator. But what about those of us who are angry about real stuff? Angry about healthcare, torture, corporate domination and poverty? Nothing from Obama.
As long as he's planning on staying black and not doing much else, the blowback for Obama, the DNC and every sane American will be a bitch. We need less objectivism and more agenda. Get it f*cking done, Mr President, we gave you a damn mandate - use it!
