War On Christmas

Nice to hear the wingnuts have declared a truce in their phony 'War On Christmas' this year and are no longer getting all excited about atheistic liberals trying to ban Jesus' birthday. Ironic though that there is a very real War on Christmas going on in their favorite country. Say it ain't so... the Jews have started a second front in Israel?!

An organization called the Lobby for Jewish Values is trying to discourage hotels and stores from being Christmassy by threatening boycotts and kosher certificate revocations. Says LJV chairman, Ofer Grinchstein (maybe not his real name):

"You should also continue to follow this path of the Jewish people's tradition and not give in to the clownish atmosphere of the end of the civil year. And certainly not help those businesses that sell or put up the foolish symbols of Christianity."

The comments are split on the Y-Net news site between conciliatory Jews and guys like this who definitely won't be getting a visit from ecumenical Santa this year:

"Light hanuka candles-stick them on every corner and in every hotel and restaurant-let the goim who come here for xmas experience OUR holiday on OUR land-and not try to kiss their asses with displaying thier symbols."
