Jessica Bucher was diagnosed with a rare disease that is almost always fatal: juvenile onset Sandhoff Disease. Thankfully, Jessica has responded well to an experimental umbilical cord stem cell treatment, but not without saddling her parents with astronomic health care bills. Those bills are now threatening their home to foreclosure. It's every parent's Faustian nightmare: save your child and lose your home or save your home and watch your child die.
It's difficult to comprehend how our electeds can live with themselves. If the bill passes, there'll still be no hope for the underinsured or uninsured. So how can Reid and Obama still be pushing their pointless sop to the insurance companies? If the bill fails, how can Lieberman justify voting to crush hopes, however faint, for the people who are condemned to death and poverty by the parasitic criminals running the insurance companies?
The current system causes an estimated 45,000 deaths per year. Nationwide, medical problems cause up to 1.5 million Americans to end up in foreclosure each year. And DC's cool with that? Speaking as one of the many uninsured, F*ck you Lieberman. And f*ck you Obama.

ReplyDeleteThis whole healthcare package has become a political joke. Have we reached the point where nothing can get done unless the public is scared out of their wits? Of course then all that gets done it that people's constitutional rights are restricted.
I fear we are approaching the point of no return.
Are you ready to give Obama the thumbs down yet? I definitely get no joy from doing so, but I have to admit a few months of actually liking the president was a pleasant break!

Not yet. I don't see it as being his fault. He has tons of problems to deal with and the democratic congress is not giving him a bit of help. Fuck those political scumbags who would rather see the maverick outsider (and to some of them "negro") fail than help him succeed and rescue the nation. He can't do it alone.
He should have stuck to his guns on singlepayer like he was supporting two years ago. Or at least come straight out of the gate with 'Medicare For All' plan. He tried compromising with a bunch of c*nts and has been screwed over. Now he's trying to sell us on a crock of sh*t that's the only thing he could achieve thru bipartisanship. He should have gone Bush on both houses and forced the thing through.
