Another Republican Class Act

Brett Mecum, executive director of the Arizona GOP, used a Republican voter database to track down a woman he had the hots for and crashed a party at her house. Said the target of Mecum's sweaty advances:

"I did not invite Brett Mecum. He is rather creepy and intimidating around women. I did not want to expose my guests to that kind of individual. I was shocked to see him show up at my party."

Although it's a felony to use a voter registration database for anything other than official purposes, Arizona GOP Chair and RNC Treasurer Randy Pullen says:

"He used Voter Vault. The Republican National Committee owns Voter Vault....It's a private list. We own the list. We can do what we want with the list, quite frankly."

This story says everything about the Republican party mix: dishonesty, shamelessness, arrogance and a big splash of pervert. A class act indeed.

Mecum's mugshot dates from last year when he was caught doing 109mph on the freeway. Luckily, a friendly judge dumped the case because he believed speed cameras were unconstitutional. Oddly, the framers of the constitution never wrote a clause about speed cameras. So I guess he was right.
