Haley Barbour Rewriting History

Haley 'Boss Hog' Barbour is trying to rewrite history and present himself as part of the generation who brought about civil rights:

"The people who led the change of parties in the South ... was my generation. My generation who went to integrated schools. I went to integrated college -- never thought twice about it."

Let me call bullsh*t on speed dial. Who the f*ck does Barbour think he's kidding? Everyone knows the timeline:

1) Civil rights act passes under Democrat LBJ
2) Solidly Democrat white southern racists get mad
3) Republicans welcome them with open arms
4) Republicans play to the angry white vote ever since

Republicans capitalized on racism: it's what they called "The Southern Strategy", it's what they call their base. So for Barbour to try and present himself as some kind of color-blind proto hippie floating round segregated Mississippi in a dashiki is as ridiculous as it is f*cking loathsome. Barbour, like most Republicans, owes his entire career to racism, bitterness and resentment. His party sucks this stuff up for nourishment.
