When The "N Word" Means Numbnuts

Only in America... could a white wingnut get away with yelling "nigger, nigger, nigger" on the radio and have a black guy run to her defense. Earl Ofari Hutchinson writing at Huffington says:

N word users and apologists serve up the lame rationale that the more a black person uses the word, the less offensive it becomes, which is precisely the point Dr. Laura picked apart.

Bullsh*t.

Far be it for a cracker like me to school a black man on the "N word", but it seems fairly obvious that a black person calling another black person 'nigger' would not constitute an act of racial hatred and would cause little offense aside from the nastiness of the word itself. But a white person doing the same thing most certainly would because intent, perception and effect could never be the same. Even if the verbal hate crime is committed by a white person in apparent wide-eyed ignorance (see: Laura Schlessinger, Michael Richards), it's a hate crime nonetheless.

If this crucial difference is not immediately obvious to Hutchinson as a black man living in America, he's a f*cking liar.
