So let's get this right... priests busted for "priestly pedophilia" (the Christian Science Monitor's fudgy euphemism for the rape and torture of little kids) largely get away with it. They're just shuffled round from parish to parish while the Catholic Mafia do all they can to keep them out of prison. But ordain a woman as a priest? You're sooo getting an express ticket to hell compliments of the Vatican... Says CSM:
Currently, women or those ordaining women are quickly excommunicated as a violation of sacramental law. Priests found abusing children, however, are disciplined under a different canonical law and rarely excommunicated.
If these people are supposed to be saving our souls, I think we're f*cked.
