The Holocaust Infinite Loop

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."
- Joseph Goebbels

California gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown recently accused Republican rival, Meg Whitman, of indulging in Goebbels-style political mudslinging:

"You know, by the time she's done with me, two months from now, I'll be child-molesting." Said Brown. "She'll have people believing whatever she wants about me... It's like Goebbels... Goebbels invented this kind of propaganda."

So did Brown's sincere (and therefore ill-advised) words spark a debate about the suitability of Nazi-style propaganda as a tool for American politicians? Does anyone now wonder if democracy might be better served if we cut back on the lies and negative bullsh*t?

Hell no.

Instead, here come the usual tired and factually irrelevant whines from the conservative a**holes. Said Whitman's campaign manager, Jillian Hasner:

"Jerry Brown's statements comparing our campaign to a propagator of the Holocaust is deeply offensive and entirely unacceptable."

Yawn... Will we ever be free of the Holocaust infinite loop? I'm not insane so I would in no way belittle or deny the horrors of the holocaust. But it seems to me that's exactly what people like Hasner do every time they c*ck block debate with this self-serving, catch-all 'holocaust outrage' response.
