Evangelical Overachiever Jailed

We're so used to evangelicals getting arrested for doing distinctly unchristian things they hardly seem ironic anymore. These days its more surprising when the self-appointed guardians of faith and morality turn out not to be tweakers, fraudsters or clients of rent boys.

But check out Alabama evangelist Anthony Hopkins. This bungmunch is in a class of his own:

[Hopkins] was sentenced to life plus 51 years today after police say he terrorized his family and killed his wife before storing her body in a freezer.

[He] was found guilty of the murder of his wife Arletha Hopkins as well as the rape and sodomy of his step daughter.

Hopkins was an evangelist that taught his wife and children wrong facts about the bible to help him get away with crimes.

To wonder just how wrong his "facts about the bible" must have been is definitely something of a thinker.
