Arizona Über Alles! (Part Zwei)

"Hey Jan Brewer, what's cracker-lackin' in the The Grand Canyon State state today?"

Here they go again... Remember when Arizona was all about majestic landscapes, dry heat and starchy food? Now it seems determined to re-brand itself as a prototype for Beck/Palin/Limbaugh's American fascist dystopia.

First Brewer signs into law the dumb and divisive immigration bill aimed at making permanent tans grounds for probable cause. Now there's a new bill banning ethnic studies in Arizona schools. Really? How the f*ck can that be rationalized as anything other than racism just for the hell of it? This bill makes the "Papers Please" bill look rational.

It's possible to argue that SB 1070 was not entirely motivated by small-minded xenophobia, that it contained at least a nod toward public safety however ill-judged. But this crazy sh*t? Not only should Arizona be boycotted, it should be forcibly subsumed into California and its citizens be punished with mandatory mustaches and Tejano music by law. Would that be any stupider or more blatantly biased than outlawing ethnic studies? I think not.
