Dan Riehl: Scum of the Day

Dan Riehl: unfeeling, morally bankrupt piece of subhuman scum.

So Harry Reid's wife and daughter are hurt in a car wreck. His wife Landra suffers a broken back and a broken neck in the crash and, irrespective of politics, everyone's sympathies go out to them. Except Dan Riehl at 'Riehl World'.

For Riehl, the Reid family's personal trauma is just another excuse to indulge in a bout of Reid bashing, just another scenario to exploit as a cheap political 'gotcha'. Wow. This guy riehly has issues... says he:

"If Democrats want so badly to abort babies because of it, why are we bothering with someone who has a broken neck and back at 69? It sounds to me like she's pretty well used up and has probably been living off the taxpayers for plenty of years to begin with... Come on, Harry - do your civic duty. The nation's broke and counting on you guy. Pull the plug and get back to work."

Sure, you're not supposed to take this crap at face value... he's being clever, see... he's exaggerating to make a point, all in the age-old tradition of right-wing political vaudeville (see: Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck, Rush Limp-baugh, etc.)

But there's a point at which polemics can be stretched too far by those unskilled in nuance and unrestrained by common human decency. There's a point at which you stop looking cute and edgy and just show yourself as an unfeeling, morally bankrupt piece of subhuman scum. Congratulations, Dan Riehl, you reached that point, met with the realtor, put in a generous offer and now totally own it.
