WTF?

The Washington Post is talking about Lauren Ashley, the latest beauty pageant contestant taking the easy route to attention via bigotry:

"Anyway, here's what she told Fox News: 'The Bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman. In Leviticus it says, "If man lies with mankind as he would lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death and their blood shall be upon them." The Bible is pretty black and white,' Ashley told Pop Tarts. …

I'm not really caring too much about her interpretation of Leviticus... My question: how does this sour-faced cow scarer get to be a beauty pageant contestant anyway? "Miss Beverly Hills" looks more like she should be passing out chlamydia at a truck stop in Oklahoma. My, what is the world coming to..?
