Hensarling Owned

Best part of the whole Obama Q&A yesterday? Seeing Jeb Hensarling get owned by the Prez.

This stuff so rarely happens in American politics. But it's the kind of exchange that would happen on a regular basis if only 1) we had a functioning news media that employed journalists instead of 'infotainers' and party activist hacks; 2) House and Senate procedures were more parliamentary.

As things went awry for their GOP bosses, Fox News chose to shut down the Q&A early rather than embarrass them further. I think this totally backs up points 1 and 2. The average Republican wouldn't last ten minutes in a Darwinian 'survival of the fittest' parliamentary system where lies are challenged and idiots get laughed out of town.

So what's the best the wingnuts can do to spin this intellectual and political rout? Obama called Hensarling 'Jim' instead of 'Jeb' was the big takeaway for Hank Gilbert blogging on the Dallas Morning News. As his special ed PE teacher probably used to say, "Eye on the ball there, Sparky, good job!".
