Barack Bush? Nope.

In the light of the recent anti-terror screw-up, Andrew Sullivan says "the Obama administration is just as incompetent in terror prevention as the Bush administration".

I think that's an overly harsh take. There are very big difference between Bushco and the Obama government. At least Obama fesses up, acts like a commander-in-chief and bangs some heads together when this kind of sh*t happens. But the instinctual response of the Bush admin to any terr'ist threat was to go on the defensive and pull their heads in. Unless, of course, the disaster could be capitalized upon as an excuse to undermine civil liberties and make hay for the Neocons.

So I'd give Obama props on his handling of the aftermath. At least we are no longer living under a quasi-authoritarian regime obsessed with secrecy that avoids accountability at all costs and for whom the buck stopped anywhere else but with them. Obama handled the incident like an adult. Bush and Cheney would have handled it like busted five-year-olds trying to lie their way out of trouble.
