Bye bye, Obey Giant. Back to the real face of the Democratic party.
For years, I've backed the passive-aggressive, self-defeating Democratic party in it's ongoing struggle with the GOP. It's always been a unrewarded task. Trust me, there are few of those testosterone-driven 'hell yeh!' moments for us liberals... That was, until 2008 when it finally looked like America was recovering its collective sanity and the Democratic party's balls had finally dropped.
But how soon those gutless wonders revert to type. Now the majority has been pissed away, the Dem leadership are crying 'uncle' to the GOP:
"Senate Republicans have an obligation to the American people to join us in governing our nation through these difficult times and to help clean up the mess they left behind. It is mathematically impossible for Democrats to pass legislation on our own. Senate Republicans to come to the table with ideas for improving our nation and not obstructionist tactics."
With Obamamania a distant memory and all those fancy speeches come to nought, they're now also sinking back into the self-doubting existential crisis that always defined their unelectability for so many years. Says an anonymous Senate staffer at TPM:
"The worst is that I can't help but feel like the main emotion people in the caucus are feeling is relief at this turn of events. Now they have a ready excuse for not getting anything done. While I always thought we had the better ideas but the weaker messaging, it feels like somewhere along the line Members internalized a belief that we actually have weaker ideas. They're afraid to actually implement them and face the judgment of the voters. That's the scariest dynamic and what makes me think this will all come crashing down around us in November."
If these lame tw*ts all pulled on diapers and started suckling at Nancy Pelosi's withered teats, the Democrats could not look more like babies right now. WTF happened???
Yup, with a small majority in congree and the presidency, the GOP crushed the dems. With a small majority and the presidency, the dems have let the GOP crush them.
ReplyDeleteIt's fucking insane.

ReplyDeleteI don't have anything set up fussy. It says open to everyone and allow anonymous comments. Sucks if it's being awkward. Not like I need to be discouraging commenters!
