Healthcare Bill passes but it's sh*t. Mitch McConnell makes sense. Welcome to the Twilight Zone.
Something strange has happened. Mitch McConnell is making sense. What's more, he's saying what no Dem has balls or integrity enough to say and... gulp... I agree:
The Republican leader, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, lashed out at Democrats in his closing speech, charging that they were defying the will of the American people, and that Mr. Obama was breaking numerous campaign promises. "If the people who wrote this bill were proud of it, they wouldn’t be forcing this vote in the dead of night," he said.
From the other side of the aisle we're insulted by bogus platitudes like Paul G. Kirk, Ted Kennedy's successor, saying:
"Is this a bill of real reform that Ted Kennedy would champion and vote for? Absolutely, yes. Ted Kennedy knew real reform when he saw it, and so do I."
Kennedy devoted his career to fighting for real healthcare reform for regular Americans who are screwed by the current system. This ain't it. And I'm damn sure Kennedy would not have mistaken it for such. So full anti-kudos to Kirk for putting words in a dead man's mouth.
Whoa, mcconnell, kirk, kennedy, I'm getting dizzy here.
