Liars of The Year

Palin in at number one. Who'd have seen that coming?

Pullitzer-Prize-winning PolitiFact has chosen Sarah Palin's "death panels" fantasy as its "Lie Of The Year." I'm sure Benita Mooselini must be very proud to have excelled in her chosen field.

At first thought, you'd think it would be awkward running for president with that on your resume. But the harsh reality is that Mooselini's whopper delayed the healthcare debate by a good few months just like the GOP wanted and must have earned her big respect. Plus, in c*ntservative world, your popularity increases in line with the ridiculousness and grandiosity of the lies you tell. Being an unashamed and unapologetic liar is where it's at. Today's conservatism is a long way from the world my grandmother taught me about where no-one likes a liar. We f*cking love them.

In at fourth place: Say what..?

Interestingly, Obama's in the top ten list of biggest lies too with his claim that "preventive care saves money". Hmm... sounds counterintuitive. But Obama is wrong. Under our current freemarket healthcare system, it's cheaper to let people contract fatal illnesses, live with them undetected and then just die quick when they're diagnosed at too advanced a stage to be treated.

For some reason, teabaggers and c*ntservatives are fine with that.

Interestingly, Obama's 'lie' shows up the whole Logan's Run 'Death Panels' scenario as the errant bullcrap it is. Look at how the system works and why Obama was wrong in touting preventative care as cheaper. It's the invisble hand of the market that puts the pillow over Grandma's face. Not the government.
