"China on Tuesday executed a former securities trader for embezzlement, the first person in the industry to be put to death."
Here's an interesting dichotomy: in America we bail out our financial crooks and our electeds bend over backwards to please them, in China they shoot them in the back of the head.
Much as China's vigorous approach to government regulation may be bit heavy handed, wouldn't a selective cull on Wall Street straighten things out pretty sharpish and be a lot cheaper than TARP? And who'd lose sleep over a few Gordon Geckos getting executed? Hell, I'd buy tickets.
