Every time Glenn Beck pulls out his chalk board and does his mad professor of communist conspiracy routine, I always wonder what a field day he'd have with his own conservative heroes if he switched from picking on Democrats.
Grover Norquist is one of Beck's heroes and widely credited as a key architect of modern conservatism. Here's what David Brock says about him in his book "Blinded by the Right, Media Matters":
"There was nothing traditionally conservative in Grover's approach... On the contrary, Grover admired the iron dedication of Lenin, whose dictum "Probe with bayonets, looking for weakness" he often quoted, and whose majestic portrait hung in Grover's Washington living room. Grover kept a pet boa constrictor, named after the turn-of-the-century anarchist Lysander Spooner. He fed the snake mice, all of them named David Bonior, the outspoken liberal House whip."
