When Obama skipped town to make a personal pitch for Chicago to the Olympic Committee in Copenhagen, it felt like a risky move. Unless the fix was in. But it wasn't:
"11:29 a.m., ET: Chicago is out. The Windy City has been removed from consideration after just one round of voting. Tokyo went out in the second round, leaving Rio de Janeiro and Madrid."
Of course Obama could not have won with the wingnuts at home either way. But to lose the bid is worse because they'll now get to paint the President as an ineffectual loser - rather than the rapacious cronyist angle Fox News was getting into its swing with.
F***. I think the wingnuts have just been thrown a very large and bloody chunk of red meat.
