Away With The Freemarket Fairies

In his latest Townhall.com fantasy, Dick Morris warns us that the crappy healthcare bill currently limping through the Senate "will drive up premiums for the average family by $1,700 a year."

So the inference is that the insurance companies would really love to help us out but they're going to be forced, kicking and screaming, into putting up their prices. Really Dick? You really believe that crap?

I'm sure Morris is aware he's a f***witted garbage pail of semi-human slime for whom lies come easier than breathing. Trouble is, some rubes who read him might not be fully cognisant. Then it's a breeze for Dick to pull dumb statements like this out of his capacious ass and see them flutter away into the media sphere as full-fledged 'facts'.

Like many wingnuts, Morris holds as a tenet of his conservative faith that the corporation can do no wrong. Our free market, in Morris' imagination, is populated entirely with Mother Theresas working tirelessly for the good of the people in opposition to the Fed's Satanic plot to enslave us all. Government = Bad. Freemarket = Good.

Even as they take this fairy tale as gospel, conservatives still like to portray themselves as hard-headed realists and pour scorn on 'naive' liberals who'd rather put their faith in the good of the people than the wealth-sucking megacorps. Could someone please explain how they get away with this ridiculous infantilism?

  1. Typical right wing corpo-fascist bullshit.
I remember when the clean air and clean water acts were going to bankrupt American business and send us into the dark ages. . . that was 1968.
Sadly, people (ignorant proles) still buy into this fantasy load of recreant bullshit.
